Increase Affordable Workforce Housing

  • Look to expand first-time home buyers program 

  • Help find grants and funding for Pea Patch development

  • Allow first-time homeowners loan to go for  land

  • Allow modification to Detached guest house rule to allow up to 300 ft separation, different water and septic, and driveway, if rented, must be at Federal Housing set for income up to $115,000

  • Have 20-30 preset and approved/permitted housing designs for people to obtain from the county 

  • Priority for permits for workforce housing

  • Have permits turned over in 8-12 weeks

  • Over-the-counter permit approval for easy permits

  • Create or suggest pre-plan approval

  • DNR class and help with Forest Practice permits 

  • Work with Opportunity Council and local housing groups to build more workforce housing

  • Look to private developers to build more housing

  • Allow Tiny home parks

  • Revise energy code for under 500 sq ft structure

  • Figure out financing, on-bill finance, and reduced costs for utility package

  • County looks to acquire land for farming and farmworker  housing
